Subject: WHT: council postpones DU vote

Aloha Chair Hoffmann,

Military officials had the same 3 minute chance to speak on the issue before the council as the rest of us did.  In fact they have had 9 months to speak at a public forum in Hilo on the issue and have remained silent.
If you are going to provide the military special time to speak then we demand equal time be provided for Dr. Lorrin Pang, MD.

 The council postponed voting
on a resolution from Puna
Councilwoman Emily Naeole
that urges the U.S. military to
address the hazards of depleted
uranium at the Pohakuloa
training area.
Council Chairman Pete
Hoffmann, Kohala, indicated
military officials should be
given a chance to speak on the
issue before the council votes
on it.
