Open Letter to Mayor Kim to be printed in Hawaii Tribune-Herald

Aloha Peace Ohana,
Some good news.  The Open letter to Mayor Kim urging immediate action to stop the spread of radiation contamination is going to be printed in the Hawaii Tribune-Herald.
Trib editor David Bach met with Kale Gumapac of the Kanaka Council and myself during the picket of the Tribs offices today starting at 3:30. and agreed to print the letter. . Mahalo for coming out to the picket and your phone calls.
Now we need to focus on Mayor Kim 961-8211, County Council members 961-8225, state legislators (toll free 974-4000), and Hawaii's Congressional delegation Sen. Akaka 935-1114, Sen. Inouye 935-0844, Rep. Mazie Hirono 935-3756..  Following the picket at the Trib,  a small group of us visited the Hilo office of Sen. Dan Inouye.  We delivered copies of the Open letter to his staff and asked that Sen. Inouye call for an immediate halt to live -fire and bombing at PTA until a thorough, objetive and independent survey has been completed to assure public safety.  We asked that Inouye provide Congressional funding for the survey.
The latest issue of the Big Island Weekly has an article on the issue with the Mayor's phone number 961-8211.   Please make the call or calls and urge others to do so.  Mahalo.
